Do you ever think technology has negatively impacted your life?

In the last few days, I’ve heard and engaged in discussions about how technology has literally taken over the world and doesn’t always affect us in the most positive ways. Last week, my coworkers and I were discussing how life would be so much simpler if we didn’t have email, computers, etc. Then, I was discussing a dating app with my friend later in the week and yesterday, I logged onto IG to see an add for that app on my timeline — mind you, I’ve never seen this ad before and I didn’t even realize that they advertised on social media. I work in Advertising so this is an interesting topic for me. On one hand, I’m in awe of how much advertising (served through modern technology) can permeate our lives and trigger our decisions and actions. But on the other hand, I get reallyyy paranoid and perturbed when technology seems to evade even your quietest thoughts. Like why on earth am I being served an ad that I just talked about and didn’t even search on my phone?? I think that’s taking it a bit too far. Who gave these people the creative license to listen in on our conversations and serve up ads? I didn’t sign any forms! I didn’t provide any consent! I want to speak to AppleCare! lol

Do you ever feel like your privacy is being invaded? Like “the man” is watching your every move or listening to whatever you say?
