BETHESDA TERRACE

BETHESDA TERRACE

Central Park is maybe one of the most picturesque spots in all of NYC.

There are so many areas that make for a good backdrop and I’ll never get tired of shooting there. My new photographer friend and I headed there to shoot 2 new looks last week and I really like the way the shots came out. We gravitated to Bethesda Terrace and there were SO many people just walking around and milling about. There was this really talented guitar player (I think it was a guitar, can’t remember now lol) playing a song that everyone started singing along to. It was such a magical little moment amongst strangers. Of course, the temps were low and I was freezing but we made the best of it and got some good pics. I shopped my closet this time around and wore a Shein polka dot dress and my Steve Madden red suede heels for the first look — topped off with the same boater hat from the last post, a faux fur vest and my new fav black beaded bag from Zara. Then, I changed into an old faux leather Zara dress, a plaid button-down shirt from Old Navy, a black beret and my silver Zara booties. I kinda want to repurpose the 2nd look and wear it out sometime because I ended up loving it! Most of the time, I try to shoot looks that I’m actually wearing for the day but there are times when I go take pictures for the blog and then go straight home and change into my sweats lol. The life of a blogger. We do semi-ridiculous things to share our style with the world.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to enhance this blog and get more readers. I think I need to take some time this weekend to focus on building a newsletter and researching other ways to garner more followers. I LOVE some of the physical blogs (not just iG pages) of people like BrooklynBlonde and Wendy’s Lookbook and I want this blog to be a source of inspiration for the people that follow me. I started it specifically to be able to have real conversations with people and write more than just a short caption under a photo. If you are reading right now, I want to sincerely thank you for doing so! Please tell your friends, your mama, your cousins and your coworkers to read too. I’d appreciate that very very much. ;) xoxo - Ashley
