NYC EATS
My friends and I had a Girls' Night recently and got all dolled up to have a good meal.
My friend Candace and I have a ritual where we do Girls’ Night once a month or so in order to go check out a new fancy restaurant in Manhattan. We put on cute clothes and heels and run through my list of restaurants that I want to try before I leave this place for good (whenever that happens). We tried Scarpetta this time around and it did not disappoint. It came very highly recommended by my old boss who is someone that enjoys the finer things in life so I trust her judgement lol. She described it as her favorite restaurant in the city and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since.
So, I went out to shoot a little earlier in the day and then headed out with Candace and our other friend to Madison Ave. I’ve been dealing with a skin disorder as of late and needed to cover up my arms (and legs) so I wore this lime green crop top that I bought from Shein a while ago. I paired it with my H&M Mom jeans, silver Bauble Bar earrings, my silver sparkly belt and old silver booties from Zara. (Note: I didn’t link the items that are old or no longer on their respective sites.)
Back to the food though. It was DELICIOUS. We ordered scallops, lobster tagliolini and cheesecake and all of it was scrumptious. The atmosphere is nice too — very nice decor and good people watching. I highly recommend it! After dinner, we weren’t quite ready to call it a night just yet so we stopped at the restroom downstairs and then happened upon the bar/lounge (“The Seville”) down there. We stayed for a few minutes before deciding we were old and tired and went home lol.
Since I enjoyed Scarpetta so much, I thought I should compile a little list of my fav restaurants in the city just for you. ;) So, without further ado, here we go…
*These are in no particular order — just places that I either really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere or both.
Vandal - The food is tasty and it’s always packed with beautiful people and good music.
Philippe Chow - OMG this place is so damn good. I love everything on the menu. You might also spot a celebrity or two (if that’s your thing lol).
Nobu - The food is superb. The end.
Jue Lan Club - Food is stellar and I always love the music every time I go. Think recent hip-hop and dance vibes.
Buddakan - Great food and atmosphere. And bonus points because it was featured in the Sex And The City movie!
Honestly, there are several more that I love but this list is top 5. Hit me up in the comments if you’re curious about the other contenders. I can talk about Manhattan eateries all day! And let me know what you think of this look. I felt like a highlighter but I enjoyed it ha. Thanks for stopping by. xoxo - Ashley
