#ACESLIST - VOL. 4
I’m back with another #AcesList!
It’s a short week and I’m oh so excited about the time off. It hasn’t been too brutally cold in NYC just yet, the holidays are in full swing and I just had a great night with my #framily on Saturday so life is good. ;) Let’s get into it.
#1
{{WHAT I’M READING}}
I’ve been on a Joshilyn Jackson kick lately. I read Never Have I Ever a few weeks ago and mentioned it in the last #AcesList post. After I finished, I immediately wanted to check out more from her. So, then I read Someone Else’s Love Story and I loved that. Thennn, I bought A Grown-up Kind of Pretty and I’m reading it now and really enjoying it as well. I honestly don’t even want to give you a synopsis of the books because that might give away the hook to the plot. They all have a twist at the end that unravels in a way you wouldn’t imagine which is maybe why I’ve been enjoying them so much. It’s safe to say, she’s my new fav author. I might just buy every single book in her repertoire. She hasn’t disappointed me yet!
#2
{{WHAT I’M EATING}}
As mentioned, we just had a great #Friendsgiving dinner on Saturday at The Boil and I’m still thinking about those crab legs. If you like seafood, do yourself a favor and check out one of the 2 locations in Manhattan. I personally prefer the one on Waverly Place by NYU because it’s bigger and the service is much better. I got the King Crab legs and we ordered several apps for the table — fries, Mac & Cheese, calamari, Brussels sprouts and garlic bread. Ugh…now I’m drooling.
#3
{{WHAT I’M BUYING}}
I just got a brown houndstooth oversized blazer from H&M (sorry! don’t see it online) and I cannot wait to wear it. I’m one of those people that likes to wear their clothes as soon as I buy them. Forget waiting for the right time, I wear my stuff early! I mean, of course, there are times when I purchase something and save it for a specific occasion but mostly, I get so excited about my new clothes that I want to wear them asap. I’ll be pairing it with some H&M Mom jeans, white sneakers and a tank realllll soon. Or maybe something more inventive…we’ll see.

{{WHAT I’M PONDERING}}
My 2020 goals. I want 2020 to be a transformative year for me. I want it to change my life. I want BIG things to happen and I’ll be praying for and manifesting those things in earnest. I don’t have specific goals written just yet but I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want the year to play out. A few areas of focus will be: blogging/social media/networking/career/interpersonal relationships. I’ll be sure to share the specific goals (the ones I feel comfortable sharing with the world) once they’re all written and fleshed out. I like to be able to revert back to my goals and see how I’ve progressed so instead of just writing them in the Notes section of my phone, I think it’ll be nice to document them here as well. For the whole world to see. ;)

{{WHAT I’M TESTING}}
So, if you follow me on IG you read all about my eyelash fiasco. I got some lash extensions at a little spot by my house for my recent ATL trip. I’ve been there before and have gotten my lashes done there a few times. It’s really cheap ($25!) and the lashes usually look good so I didn’t see an issue with trying them out again. But, this time I branched out and asked the lady for a heavier, fuller look. Which translated into me feeling like (and possibly looking like?) I had a damn bird hanging off my eyelids. They were so heavy and uncomfortable. As soon I walked out I realized I didn’t really like the way they looked but of course there’s nothing you can do about it because they just have to eventually fall out on their own. Unfortunately, I was stuck with these OD lashes for weeks. And when they all FINALLY fell out, I legit looked bald around my eyes. I freaked out. And proceeded to poll IG about what the hell I could do to grow my natural eyelashes back. The consensus was Jamaican Castor Oil! And one friend suggested castor oil and Vitamin E oil mixed together. So, I’ve been using the mixture every night for maybe 2 weeks and I do actually think it’s helping. It’s supposed to take at least a month before I see real growth so I’ll keep you posted! I’m really anxious to look normal again lol. Pray for me, yall. And don’t get cheap lash extensions. Trust me on this one.
Welp, that’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed this week’s installment of #AcesList. I plan on taking it easy this week and enjoying the down time. Hope you’re getting the rest you need too. Thanks for stopping by. xoxoxo - Ash
P.S. The pics below are from last weekend at home (Dallas). I had such a great trip and wore my fav boots twice and life was grand. :-)
