FALL FEELINGS
Fall is here and friends…I’m tired.
All I can think about is how much I want to hibernate and rest. The years that pass with me as a resident of NYC pass quickly — everything here is rapid fire. If you’re not careful, you’ll realize life went by so fast that you can’t even remember what happened. So, I’ve decided that the remainder of this year will be CHILL. Mama is so so tired. As I get older, I really cherish my alone time — my time spent reading or catching up on shows that I’ve been meaning to watch for weeks. My friends and I go out a lot…like a lot a lot. And even though I love the fast pace, I’m also a sucker for a slow night (or 3). So, with the exception of a few choice events and parties coming up in the next few months, I’ll be prioritizing rest and relaxation.
With that said, I’ve also decided that I should chill on the spending. As a blogger, you constantly feel the need to buy as much as possible. You want to look good every time you step out and of course, you want to capture the shot in each outfit. Which means you feel like you can’t re-wear your clothes if you’ve already taken a pic/posted a pic in them. Mannnnn, listen. Forget that. I’m shopping my closet this fall/winter. I bought this brown sweater dress last year and posted it on my IG when I first started @Acethelook. Then, styled it as a skirt and posted it here in January. Btw, I was FROZEN during that shoot. My hands were so red they were almost purple. You can tell in some of the pics lol. Anyway, for a day of shooting and partying 2 weeks ago, I decided to pull this lovely dress back out and style it in a more casual way. I went to a day party afterwards and it was perfect for the occasion. What do you think of this pairing? The combat boots offset it well (in my humble opinion). I showed these pics to my sis and she complimented them and then cracked on my boots and said I’d worn them into the ground. I. DON’T. CARE. lololol I love them and will wear them until all those damn pearls fall off. And a few of them already have ha.
Moral of the story — this season will be a manifestation of the mantra “less is more” for me. Less partying, less spending $$ and less pushing myself to do things I don’t really want to do. Join me, friends. You’ll thank me in January when you’re well-rested and rich(er). ;) P.S. All clothing items in this post are old or else I would post the links for you (except the cross earrings which are new from Shein!). Thank you so much for reading!
