GOAL-SETTING

GOAL-SETTING

For several years, I’ve made it a point to write down my goals for the new year.

I think it’s important to keep them top of mind all year and in order for me to do that I have to write them down. I also want to make a 2019 vision board but I’ll do that with my friends in early January. Each year, I try to consider all of the tangible things that I want to accomplish — whether it be something career-related, relationship-related or just a personal goal for myself like eating better and working out more. Of course, everyone has ‘work out more’ on their list (or at least, you should haha) but I try to be as specific as possible with each goal. Instead of writing down ‘work out more’, this year I wrote down ‘find a once-a-week yoga class and do another exercise class 2-3 times a week'. I’ve also included things like eating more whole foods and cutting my intake of sugar (I LOVE SUGAR). This year, I plan to stop talking about it and actually find a therapist that I enjoy speaking with and trust with my secrets lol. I don’t feel like there’s anything particularly wrong, I just know I need to make my mental health more of a priority this year.

I also would really like to figure out the next step for me. I actually feel kinda bad (weird?) saying that because I literally just took my new job in October and I actually really enjoy it so far. But, I continue to feel the pull of living a more settled-down, slower-paced lifestyle. Not saying I’m leaving NYC in 2019, I have no idea what the future holds and what God has planned for me. But, I would like to at least have a more narrowed down list of possible places to settle when I feel like the time is right. And by that I mean I’d like to travel to those places and really get a feel for what life would be like if I were to move.

Lastly, I have so many plans for the blog/social media pages. I want to give the Facebook page more attention, I want to collaborate with other bloggers and do joint posts and joint promotions. I want to partner with brands that I love. I want to work with video more and produce videos to accompany some of my outfit posts. I want to stick to a better blog posting schedule and make it a lot less sporadic. SO MANY THINGS. I have a follower goal in mind as well. And, to reach that goal I know I need to invest more time, money and energy into this passion of mine. I’m hoping for features on blog pages that I love. I just think this little blog could really be something big and impactful one day and I plan on giving it the love it needs in 2019. Hold me accountable!

So, what are your goals for 2019? I didn’t actually list all of them here — I have a few that I’d like to keep close to the vest. Have you considered tangibility or are you just shooting for the stars with yours? I like to think mine are a healthy mix of both. ;) I’d love to hear yours. Let me know in the comments below. xo - Ash

P.S. This outfit is my take on a casual look that can transition from running errands to grabbing a drink with the homies. I paired my new Nike cropped sweatshirt {check out the zipper detail in the back! LOVE.} with gold Airmax 97’s, black vinyl pants from PrettyLittleThing and my pink Zara faux fur coat. I changed my sunglasses and hairstyle halfway through the shoot as you can tell lol. Then, I decided the hair looked better down. Lawd. So indecisive. Anyway, what do you think of this look?? Hope you love it!
